Patrick, I think that Asia will take some time to turn around and certainly more than a couple of weeks. The immediate problem is to get the Japanese economy turned around, and after years of sitting in the doldrums and decades of ignoring their systemic problems that's going to be a difficult thing to do. The first steps are to clean up the banking system and to stimulate the economy. They will also need to get rid of a lot of their protectionist policies.

I'm of the opinion that it could take a year or more before the Japanese economy begins to reverse course, and perhaps a year more before we see discernable results like an expanding GDP.
