ValueSpec: I spoke to you 8 months back when you first started posting on this board. I sent you a private email stating my reasons for investing into this company and information about other VoIP companies. In fact, at the time, I even gave you a tip to buy into some Northern Telecom stock since I worked there and some technical information regarding Nortel's Passport 4400. NT was at $40/shr at the time. I don't know if you took my investment advice but if you did, you probably made a bundle by now.
I am currently a Member of the Technical Staff at NT and I invested in FTEL because I believed in their vision and the prospects of the VoIP market. I did and still do believe that the VoIP market is big enough for the big players like Cisco, Lucent, and NT as well as smaller companies such as Franklin, Vocaltec, IDT, and others. I'm currently involved with at team here at Nortel Micom developing similar VoIP software for our company's access device. I feel I have a fairly good understanding of FTEL's technology (Tempest) and their vision because my knowledge of Nortel Micom's VIP and Passport technology give me insight into the industry's demands and where the market stands. Franklin still has many obstacles to overcome, but I honestly believe they are headed in the right direction as seen from their recent news releases. I also feel that Frank jumped the gun by releasing the $2.5 million Intrine order. He was probably under the pressure of sustaining the momentum of the stock price since FTEL stock was on the rise at the time. One note to Frank if he ever reads this: Never let the price of the stock influence your better judgement; take care of the company and the stock will take care of itself. In any case, I have read through many of your recent and past posts and it surprises me to see your tone manifest itself from a "somewhat objective" viewpoint of FTEL into a "mockingly opinionated" one. I agree that it is very healthy to hear both the negatives and positives of a company and viewpoints. However, your views have become so biased and mocking that it no longer serves a purpose on this board. One of the cardinal sins of investing is becoming emotionally attached to a stock. Yes, its perfectly naturally to root for or against a company; however, at some point, it is absoltely vital to take a few steps back and attempt to view the situation objectively. Stressing only the negatives does not present an objective view of this company. As Frank Peters mentioned, pick and choosing only the negatives to prove your point is very misleading and true contributors of this thread should guide the readers into making sound investment decisions rather than scare them into selling. (Conversely, I am also very against hyping up a stock).
To conclude, I believe the "mocking" tone of your posts are not constructive to this thread. Presenting a balanced view of a company is both informative and helpful to the readers; however, scaring investors away by presented only the negatives of a stock is manipulative and pathetic.
I very rarely post on this thread, but your recent barrage of your "angry and one-sided" posts compelled me. Good luck in all your investments.
