I'm sure EIDSY has scored some hit programs with it's latest releases. FF VII has reportedly a very strong sell through here in Europe. Commandos is the No. 1 strategy/tactic game according to most gaming magazines and keep in mind EIDSY has also released a brand new soccer game, which was developed by Silicon Dreams (25 % EIDSY stake). Given the fact that due to the world championship nearly everyone in Europe is "hot" about soccer, this game will sell even without much advertising (the leader in sports game is of course ERTS, but there is still room for other programs). Regarding Deathtrap Dungeon, I have bought a copy last Friday and have spent the weekend with a "personal game test". Okay, DD isn't a TR killer, not only because nothing compares to Lara Croft. The graphic engine looks very good and also features dynamic lightning (Note: I played the 3DFX-version with an 6 MB Voodoo-add-on card). However, the characters don't have such a smooth animation like Lara in TR II, but they still look better than the figures in other 3-D games like Jedi Knight. There are many different types of enemies which aren't performing so stupid like in other games like Quake. They often try to attack your back, so watch out. My only point of criticism is the Save-game menu where you can only save at special locations in each level. This and the "very nasty traps" can make this game a bit frustrating. Going back through the same tunnels 10 times, because you get killed before you reach the next save point isn't much fun. This game is really hard, believe me (mastering TR is much easier), I'm still stuck in level 2 and I don't want to cheat. However, I think DD has the potential to become a chart leader and sell in excess of 500,000 copies.
