Ruby, Yes the mine was closed just before the previous owners (SGV folks) took over. If you visit the Near North this summer, you should take a drive out to Graphite Lake. It is a quaint trip and you can take a slight (end of the road) detour into Algonquin Park. I'm sure you will be enlightened. nf
