As I said before, I feel that this questioning on Bible verses per say is more of just an attack on Christianity and not truly anyone seeking to know the answer. There are people more qualified than I to answer the questions you ask. I'll answer this last question about the Bible verse, but others I'd rather take privately as eventually you will ask me a question that i don't know the answer to and in some people's eyes it will look like Christianity is wrong.

There are many times in the Old Testament when the women and children were allowed to live, only to grow up and pervert the Israeli men with their religions. I believe everyone in the tribes that were killed believed the same thing. I don't think free thinking began, as we know it, for a while after this time period. As I said before in a previous post, I believe God has the right to kill us ALL for the wrongs we've committed against him. So both you and I deserve to die to an extent.

You said in a later post that you are looking for the "truth". You have also stated that you must start with a belief in Jesus. This is contradictory. You are simply filling in the facts that support your truth, and discarding anything that doesn't.

You're right, kind of. Let me rephrase. I believe I've found the truth in Jesus, but there are certain truths from life that I continue to look for. I do take the view that Jesus is correct when answering questions.
