NCTI Licenses Clearspeech Algorithm to NCC for Use With Digital Dictate Voice Recognition Dictation Software Line

STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 13, 1998--Noise Cancellation Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:NCTI) today announced a license agreement with NCC, Inc. NCT will license its ClearSpeech(TM) algorithm for integration into NCC's Digital Dictate(TM) voice recognition dictation software line. NCT will receive royalties on each unit sold from NCC.
The Digital Dictate(TM) product line utilizes IBM's ViaVoice 98(TM) voice recognition technology and Sony's digital recording
technologies. The programs are the only software on the market today that allow the user to dictate directly into any
Windows(R) program. The ClearSpeech algorithm, integrated into the software, cleans background noise from the recorded
voice signal before transcription occurs, dramatically improving accuracy rates.
