FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 13, 1998--SyQuest Technology Inc. (NASDAQ:SYQT - news), a world leader in removable cartridge hard drive technology, announced an agreement with the Fostex Corporation of America to offer SyQuest's award-winning removable storage hard drives with the Fostex FD-4 digital audio mixer.

The combined offering represents the world's first digital multitracker audio mixer to retail for under $600.

Fostex formally announced the agreement and demonstrated the FD-4 digital audio mixer working with the SyQuest removable cartridge drives to the recording industry on July 10, 1998 at the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) in Nashville.

''This is an important introduction for SyQuest and the recording industry,'' said Gary B. Jones, executive vice president of sales and marketing. ''Our deal with Fostex has already established value and created demand for SyQuest drives and media in the music industry.
