Why Scott! Don't you think that it would have been a bit more, well, balanced of you to point out that the lead sentence of the story you pointed to is in fact:

So you've figured out that Sun has made some mistakes with Java? Why, how very astute of you! But isn't this a story that says it may just come out fine after all? Doesn't it even include the paragraph:

As one computer industry executive told me, 'there's something fundamentally right about having one layer between the operating system and the applications that permits distributed computing. With Java, we're talking about TCP/IP computing -- something Windows and DCOM will never be able to do.'

We're getting a little selective with our cutting and pasting, aren't we? Would Mommy and Daddy approve?
