I put in a market order to buy with the ask at 27 3/4. It sat for 5 full minutes before executing at 27 9/16.

That's 3/16 lost there. I put my sell stop in at 26 7/8 but it wasn't activated even 10 minutes later when it was at 26 1/4. I then cancelled and re-put the order after which it went through quickly.

The problem is one of uncertainty. How can you do business with a Brokerage that MIGHT execute your orders? If they feel like, that is.

I know I should stop whining and go somewhere else, but unfortunately the market is still in cowboy mode, and Datek may be the lesser of several evils. I will however be on the outlook for a replacement, and again ask advise from anybody who might be able to point me to a better broker. (I'm not after cheap trades, nor fancy real-time tickers - got my own L2 - but I demand availability of the trading post/website and quick presentation to the market and execution)
