What will cause such HUGE expenses!! (Could it be the poor YIELDS)

Given the good volume of unit sales and ASPs around $100 for K6, it seems safe to assume that AMD's yields must be very poor. With any reasonable yields they should be making money. The large "R&D" expense AMD has on it's books probably represents a substantial volume of useless wafers.
