I'm writing to tell you that I'm on to you.
I think you pushed out Windows 98 early, before it was ready--knowingly and willingly--in disregard of the customers who have made Microsoft the most powerful software company in the known universe.
There, I said it. I'm not Microsoft bashing. I'm not picking on you, your employees or your customers. But a trust has been breached, and someone needs to get it out in the open.
I can't prove you did it--short of an admission from you, one of your managers or one of your OEM partners--but the circumstantial evidence is overwhelming. Let me count the ways.
Bugs: The ink was barely dry on the Win 98 box when the complaints started rolling in: unsupported PC Card modems, problems upgrading from Windows 3.x, miscellaneous installation glitches, various application failures and poor performance.
