You must admit, NSM hasn't exactly taken the x86 market by storm.

I agree with that. But I don't think NSM is going to drop out of x86 market, now that for the first time they have a competitive cost structure. I think it is a pretty safe to assume that x86 instruction CPUs will be the mainstreem for the next 3 to 5 years. After that, all bets are off.

NSM may be realizing that for some applications, the baggage of x86 is too heavy for some of the "information appliances" they have in mind, especially in the wireless market segment.
