The GENZL skin graft cultures, Epicel, were also mentioned on the national news a few days ago. The story of the burned child is making all the news channels.
One interesting fact I heard the GENZL scientist say was that they could grow enough skin to cover an entire body in two weeks from one two square inch sample of the victims skin. That is very impressive both in time and the small quantity needed.

GENZL also has a product called Carticel. Which is used in replacing cartilage severely damaged in knee joints. My significant other is an exercise physiologist who worked with one of these patients. The Carticel seemed to work well. She thinks it will take off once the doctors become more receptive to it.
