tom,
yes your interpetation hits the nail on the head. my old employer would use this type of interaction for redundant/time comsuming transactions which require the same information each time an order is taken. for example: let say you moved into my service territory and wanted electrical service turned on at your new address, you call in record your information as the senario play out and at the end of routine an order is generated to turn your service on at the new address, should additional information be required such as credit history etc. the the rep already has all the information you have already given in front of her when a human is needed. the most common use would be for allowing payment extension for credit customers. to much time spent on these non paying customers as opposed to those that are good paying customers so this would be a good alternative to handle those types of calls.

i am hoping for good earning with some guidance concerning international/domestic sales this qtr and how pac rim slowdown will impace earning going forward. hoping for a good conf. call.
