I think that it is worth noting that on an up day for internet stocks, ZAP beat out Yahoo, Excite and Lycos in both percentage gain and volume. My feeling is that there may very well be a dollar rotation in the sector heading toward second tier companies. I would label Zap in this tier based on their late entry into the game. If anyone else knows of some other companies that might qualify as second tier companies please post them. I would like to keep an observant eye on these issues and track their progress against the upper echelon. I qualify upper echelon as Excite, Lycos, and Yahoo based on when they were IPOed and their obvious lofty stock price levels. Of course the price of Y,E and L very well determines the volume no doubt but still the fact that ZAP beat them out in volume by 899K, Excite by about 4M and Lycos by over 3M shares is still noteworthy IMHO. I suspect that maybe the Barron's article may have provided more of an impact then some people think. However, if this trend continues into the week then I think a rotation theory may be valid.
