Ron,

IMO that guy AKA BigScane is a big phoney (probably long at 30).

I based this opinion on information he provided which was way off the mark.

As far as Invamed goes they are just another market maker like everyone else. Interesting though that they single handedly kept the price at 15 for about 2 or 3 days back in January--I bet they were the ones buying shares back for Vivus.

As far as a buy rec from Kelly all I can say is that First Boston held us down today at 7 3/16 at the ask so they are looking for some quick dough on the short side. Remember though that BEST or whoever they were shorting for is now in big trouble if the price continues to head north--I hope they began to sweat today--just see what happens if we go up another 1/2 point tomorrow.

FWIW, I think todays trading along with the script numbers was a signal to the short interest to cover now if they want their profits.
I like all the rest of you would love to see a buy out at $20.00+/share.

I think that all of us are missing the fact that a buyout would make the brokerages who lent out their shares below 11 or 12 a ton of money. Can you imagine getting a call from your broker telling you that you MUST buy back those shares after the price possibly doubles?

If I were short and not hedged I would have some difficulty sleeping at night since a buy out can be announced next week........or maybe never but if you are long you know that things look good looking 2 to 6 months forward regardless if a buy out doesn't happen.
