To all:

An article on Schwab's web site about this today. Apparently, LOWE's did reiterate that they prefer to grow internally but they didn't deny the rumor. Announced in April they are planning to open many stores out west (100 or so) and folks in the know believe their best approach is be acquisition or merger.

I'm sorry I'm not sure I know how to post the location of the article...any tips on how to do this?
