Diamond jig is about 20 mesh screen 2 feet in diameter. You put the material on that and pan the sub size and bounce the screen to concentrate the heavy mineral eye. Then you flip the screen and pick off the bottom of the dark eye.

I would repan the waste and include all material up to pea gravel as
the material separates better with a moderate size range. Use a gentle rotary wash and keep the pan flat. Use water to lift the lights. Don't pan with more than 3 or 4 pounds at a time. Try to feep your garnets in the pan. After you get it down to about 2 ounces stop and take the magnetite our carefully with a magnet. Then examine the sand in a 40 power binocular microscope on a watch glass. You can only look at about 10 grams at a time.

Diamond picking is an art. You really need a separation flow sheet. Expensive.
