I think you are missing something. Semiconductor mfrs and semi-equipment mfrs businesses are intertwined. The semi makers need money to buy equipment. The same is generally true of the mask makers and ETEC. If the mask makers earnings fall apart ETEC is going to have problems beyond what has been reported. However, I would be surprised if mask makers do poorly for long. They are really the best positioned companies in the whole semi-related business, in my opinion.
