From the point of view of NASD, Market Makers, and what we are calling MM's are the same thing.

From the point of view of the investor, they are very different.

A Market Maker is someone who performs a necessary service by buying and selling stock on behalf of customers -- they make trading possible. A Market Maker makes his living scalping the spread between the bid and the asked.

An MM is a speculator who abuses his market-making registration to trade in stock for his own account at the expense of investors. Many of them have no customers at all. They try to make profits in excess of the spread by manipulating stock prices.

There are both Market Makers and MM's dealing in ALYA. We now have three short MM's -- Frankel, Nite and Sharpe. Nite was a big factor in holding back DGIV for awhile -- but when they were forced to cover, the stock ran to the stratosphere.

Now, they've come here to ALYA to help Shortie Frankel cause trouble. In due course, they will taught another lesson.
