Kodak just announced a product that competes with Synthonics.
Sorry, I said I would not post again, but this was too important. I just found out that Kodak has announced a close range photogrammetry product that will be another competitor for Synthonics' photogrammetry products and services. See the web site:

Also, Ted's message made me want to apologize if I have hurt any of you innocent investors. I (and people I know) had held off for a long time from taking action to expose Synthonics, but I think it is best that I did so now before it goes any further.
Also, I have new information which leads me to believe that the reason Smithsonian chose Synthonics was because Synthonics was willing to do all the laborous marking work as part of the deal. Can't reveal more due to confidentiality requirements. That is part of the test contract and it will be decided if they award the larger contract??? Well, my comment is that if it is truely profitable, then the authorized service firms of competitors would have/will in future jump in to bid. I think we will find in the end that the Smithsonian type deal is not that profitable and that is the reason competitors did not bid. In any case, I have a difficult time imaging how Synthonics can give a fair return on investment when they have inferior software for the task and competitors didn't find it profitable enough to win the bid. When they can be more open on financial data, cost and detail of how they provide this service, profit potential, etc., then I will be less skeptical. I have never seen any info on their engineering and software operator staff. Certainly, Dr. Palm and board members don't write the software and then mark all the points on all the photos of the artifacts. I understand they have announced to intend to have this in separate companies so they remain purely a technology outfit. Seems like a clever way to avoid having to give details.
About my motivation. I don't know how to define sincere in this context. I certainly have not lied or unnecessarily withheld info, which I believe Synthonics has done both to it's investors. I guess I have an emotional thing against attorneys and patents. I would really like to see Sythonics produce products and compete in the user marketplace. So far their published product, Wireframe Express, has been a real dog. I can't see any way for them to make a lot of money, except to file patent infringement cases but these they will lose because no one uses their inferior technology. I write software for living and have been listed in the ABout box of very popular software. I want Synthonics exposed for what it really is. If I wrong about what it is, then so be it as long as more verifyable facts come out. I have never met the people in the company although I have contacted them.
This is truely my last message in this thread. |
