There are numerous brokerage firms and many influential money managers who have outperform ratings on MO. Again, the problem lies with the litigation risk! The MM's and the Street will not let MO trade above its 200 day moving average until this litigation risk is resolved somewhat. Perhaps, if Big Tobacco can win the present class action lawsuit in Florida, the perception of the risk involved will change.
You need a strong heart for this stock. With all this being said, I feel in my gut that something is going to give here one way or another by the end of the summer, which will propel MO sharpely higher or maybe even lower. This super tight trading range is an omen for future fireworks. I'm a value player so I'm in. But watch out! The odds are that we move sharpely higher by about 3:1. Just my honest opinion.
