Hi Martin. I prefer "spies" only because their intent is to get as much information about a company "anyway they can". This involves sitting around pubs buying drinks for drillers etc. etc. They perform covert operations with the idea of putting their company in a better bargaining position.

Do you think that there is a time limit when a big gold co. should announce publicly a interest in GE?

No company announces publicly any interest! What they do is go to GE and tell them they are interested. GE then gets them to sign a confidentiality agreement and a standstill agreement.

The confidentiality agreement prevents them from discussing the property with anyone.

The standstill agrement prevents them from attempting a hostile takeover for a given period as a result of the info they aquired thru the confidentiality agreement.

So the process would be a number of majors would be invited to look at the property. They all would have to sign confidentiality and standstill agreeements. They then would be given free access to the property to perform Due Dilligence(DD). When all parties are completed the bidding would begin! This is the process.

CAVEAT - "assuming" the gold is their!!!!

I am not a shareholder "yet"!!!
