Brad, maybe there is something here . . . from today's paper:

MARYLAND

Improvement Planned for Fingerprint System

Prince George's County Executive Wayne K. Curry (D) and Montgomery
County Executive Douglas M. Duncan (D) announced plans yesterday to
spend $1.5 million to upgrade an automated fingerprint identification
system that could link their files to other systems in the Washington area by
early next year.

The counties have shared a fingerprint identification system since 1979,
and the enhancements would enable their police departments to scan a
suspect's fingerprints and obtain a printout of possible matches within five
minutes.

Money for the Prince George's share of the project has been approved,
and yesterday Duncan submitted an emergency funding request to the
Montgomery County Council.

"Nowhere is regional cooperation more critical than in law enforcement,"
Duncan said.

The new system will be housed in Hyattsville but will be maintained by
employees from both counties.

This looks much more like a live scan installation. Who has Maryland, anyway?
