Confirmation of what has already been said here a billion gadjillion times:

-- Compaq Computer Corp.'s (CPQ - news) cheapest computer is now its most profitable consumer personal computer, the Wall Street Journal reported.
Accelerating sales and a sharp drop in costs pushed the margin on Compaq's $899 computer, which is also its biggest seller, above its more expensive consumer
PCs. Compaq shares closed at 32-10/32.

Not that there is huge margin in low-end PCs, but that this is where the sales are now!

(there, that should be enough to bring you-know-who out of hibernation!)
