MANKATO, Minn., July 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Winland Electronics, Inc. (Nasdaq:
WLET), announced today record sales and earnings for the second quarter and
six months ended June 30, 1998.
For the second quarter, sales were $4,290,114, up 44 percent from $2,983,529
from the same period in 1997. Net income before taxes rose 277 percent to
$300,840, from $79,818 for the 1997 second quarter. Net income was
$195,537, or seven cents per diluted share, an increase of 147 percent from
$79,234, or three cents per diluted share, for the prior-year period.
For the six months, sales totaled $8,693,075, up 50 percent from $5,805,624
for the first six months of 1997. Net income before taxes rose 147 percent
to $570,480, from $231,155 for the same period in 1997. Net income rose 79
percent to $370,812, or 13 cents per diluted share, from $207,571, or seven
cents per diluted share, for the prior year.
