MacDonald-Miller of Seattle Signs as New Distributor

Sontay of England First Distributor in the UK

PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 14, 1998--ALYA International, Inc.
(''ALYA'' or the ''Company'') announced today that MacDonald-Miller Co., Inc., a Seattle
Washington based system integrator has signed a distributor contract with the Company.
MacDonald-Miller specializes in engineering, building commissioning, air balance, sheet-metal
fabrication and installation, plumbing, electrical, service, maintenance and controls. They have
approximately 600 employees and annual revenues of approximately US$90,000,000.
MacDonald-Miller's clients include Boeing, Microsoft, Techtronics, Washington Mutual Bank
and Wright & Runstad.

Sontay Ltd. of Horsham, West Sussex, England has also signed as a distributor for ALYA.
Sontay has annual revenues of approximately L3M (US$5,000,000). Sontay develops and
distributes products to the Building Management System industry in the UK including
temperature and humidity sensors, air quality and light level pressure products, smoke and
water leak detection, and LON sensors for the emerging building automation industry.

These two companies are strong additions to the corporate plan to develop relationships with
integrators and resellers of diversified product lines and not just security systems.
McDonald-Miller is a large, well-regarded system integrator in the Seattle market and adding
ALYA's O.P.E.N.centrix Advance Management Security System to their product line will
increase their and ALYA's market penetration. Sontay as a reseller for the building
management industry provides a fully developed distribution network and already markets
complimentary products.

ALYA now has 10 distributors worldwide including four in Western Europe, three in the US,
two in Eastern Europe and one each in Canada and Argentina. These represent signed
distributorship agreements to sell $5,000,000 of ALYA products annually.
