CA IS A GIANT WITH CLAY FEET. CA is in transition period from a maintenance collector company to a high tec company. Are they going to succeed or collapse when maintenance fees will dry out?
You completely missed our points. Posh's and mine posts have nothing to do with any racial statements, social commentaries and "communist" mentality. As a mater of fact I am chinese too, but it doesn't mean I have to like chinese dictator even he increases my stock value. Posh-spice gave you 100% true description of CA's internal structure. www2.techstocks.com
I was trying to say in my post that the time for "labor camp" approach is gone and the only way CA will succeed on the long run is if they change current internal structure and policy. CA is trying to shift own business from a maintenance collector company (mainframe software) to a high tec company (Unicenter-TNG). In order to succeed in it, you have to relay on bright individuals, but not on slave labor and solders. This was may point. In the past they didn't need bright individuals, because they work as a butcher shop (resell somebody's software and collecting maintenance).
My history opus was just an example. Take a look at "1984" book by George Orwell, you will understand it better. The history shows that none of societies were successful on the long run, if they were relying on slave labor. Soon or later they will collapse. It may or may not happen with CA, but nobody knows for sure what and when. My opinion is that "CA IS A GIANT WITH CLAY FEET", same as eastern block used to be. Congress and CIA invested billions dollars on research, but nobody was able to predict such quick and dramatic collapse. Open your mind, don't be an innocent child.
David Mullins - "I know a lot of CA employees, and most seem damn happy to me" As of your post that all CA people are damn happy. It is true for dumm people only. I talked to a lot of people who left CA. Do you know what was the common expression? "Why did not I leave early? I just waist my time." And it is despite that all of them made good money on CA's stock options. Just remember I was talking to technical people only ( developers, support, consulting and ect ).
In the short run I think they will announce good revenue, but since they have to buy somebody (in order to grow) the stock will drop after they announce new acquisition (do you remember CSC deal?). This is why a close my positions at $60. Plus I didn't like that the stock could hold $60 twice? I think the street is in anticipation of new acquisition. As I mentioned in my previous post, SYBS is most logical candidate for it. They have to build mussels in UNICENTER-TNG and move it new level (UNIX). They lost big contract at Lehman, because of bad UNIX support ( only NT left ). It is interesting Tivoli is strong in UNIX, CA in NT and they are moving from different direction to build the best enterprise system.
Good, luck in your investments and try do not accuse people, if you don't like their opinion.Just try to accept that somebody may know more than you do in certain topic. Gall. |
