Randy, can't take credit for having all the info at my fingertips, but if I have a question, I ask for the answers. I knew that Bomax was the result of a name change from Lansco and that it had come as a result of the rollback. I had never looked into exactly what the focus of Lansco was, because it wasn't what they were currently up to. When the question was asked, I thought I would pursue the answer, so I went to the horses mouth, Jim.
I did do a fair bit of checking, with regards to who Jim was and what his rep was, prior to buying into Bomax to begin with. He has a decent rep and has always been honest with me, thus I have no reason to disbelieve his historical account of what happened with Lansco/Bomax.
Just FYI, the rights to the anti-counterfeiting concept were given up when Jim got control of the company back, so the company does NOT have access to the technology. From the sounds of it, it had great potential, but at the time would have cost too much to implement, at the retail level. May have simply been before it's time.
  Salut, Leigh McBain
PS - as I was reminded by a friend, that was Lou Dillman Sr., that was involved in the Lansco deal with Jim. |
