I'm not trying to be negative. On the contrary, I've already stated that holding through till next earnings will be eventually accretive. I'm just trying to be realistic about the short term action after earnings.

I completely agree, and in fact I'm expecting a selloff in AAPL after earnings are announced. How long after is the question. If they truly blow out the quarter, then it may take a week or two for the stock to settle. That's when I'll jump in with more purchases for the iMac and Q4 run up. If AAPL gets anywhere into the 20's before the Q4 report, I'll be buying like crazy unless some major bad news surfaces. However, we may not see the 20's again and I'll have to be more selective.

I *do* expect Q4 to be a major boon for AAPL, and I want to be positioned to take advantage of it. Only a severe problem with the iMac causing major bad press can stop this.
