If I buy 1000 shares of a $50 stock and they halt trading on it for news that they won't make earnings, it reopens at $35, by the time I get out it is at $25. I have lost $25000 dollars. If I buy 1,000,000 shares of a .02 stock, I have spent $20000 dollars. A .02 stock can double or more easy in one day. What happens if the stock goes to 0? I have lost $20000. What is the chances of going to 0 in one day or even 5 days... How often do they halt trading on penny stocks? If it doubles, I have $40000. Simple, low risk, high reward factor. That why I fool around with pennies along with "real" stocks.
