SSO - thanks, I thought that drilling data had been obtained and that drilling could only be effectively done in certain areas due to the placer deposit of gold in the valley. GE purchased a drill, but found it a rather useless tool due to the unique nature of the gold deposit. From what I can tell, mother nature has mostly done the drilling, trenching and mining and has created the shear cliffs and mountain slopes in the process. (Been to the Grand Canyon? I have.) Nature has dropped its golden providence down to an accessible number of feet above sea level in the form of what we lovingly call a Placer Deposit on this thread. Sure, there is gold above and below the riverbed, but the valley has the gold that has been concentrated by thousands of years of erosion. A simple concept. The gold is there. How much and how economically it can be extracted is left to be seen. Colleen in Orlando.
