You and I both know what's legal and moral. Some people out there, like the KKK boys in that drive-by shooting (link posted earlier) obviously don't. If we assume that the only reason for the 2nd amendment is to enable citizens to defend themselves against an oppressive government, then it would be easy to conclude that it is obsolete. The 1st amendment defends the 2nd more than the other way around. I don't think that is the only reason for the 2nd amendment, though. We need arms to defend ourselves not from the government, but against other armed citizens (paradox, this one), those who don't know (or care) what is legal or moral and who the government couldn't disarm even if it tried. Some of us just like to shoot, too. I don't think anyone needs to apologize for skill with arms. That's something every child should be taught, even those growing up in the most peaceful, secure, environments. We never know what they'll face down the line. Much better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Steve
