i would like to get someone's view
on how this will effect us, the daytraders
i admit it is over my head

Based on that article, NODES would destroy entire portions of day-trading and provide the opportunity for MM's to make more money while legally bilking both daytraders and "outside" investors of more money. For all the weaknesses in the current system, the bottom line is if the MM's are complaining vehemently about it, it's a good system. The more they complain, the better the system. A system they like is very, very bad for the rest of us; daytraders, investors, and the companies who sell shares on publicly traded markets.
