Steve, I forgot one other reason to not play the options game. The options game is a zero sum game - that's 50/50 shot of making money. If you're writing the calls there is somebody else that MUST be buying the calls. If you win, he/she loses by the same amount. If he/she wins, you lose by the same exact amount. The odds are actually less than 50/50 because of the recurring commissions. Long term investing in stocks over the long haul has +95% chance of making money. Play the odds, Steve, not the game.
