Revs would have been about $56 million without the strike and earnings would have been about .165/share instead of .145/share. The strike hurt the gross margin also. But the market doesn't seem to be penalizing GNTX for the strike, which is the way it should be. The only other disappointing thing was that the fire protection products business was down 4%. At the beginning of the year, it was hoped that this business would be up 5%. Even at less than 10% of revenues, its a drag on growth and profitability. But this is where the company started 20 years ago and it's unlikely they'll ever divest it.

By the way, in case anyone missed it, GNTX landed the Toyota Camry Solara for interior EC mirrors beginning this fall (model year 99). That is the first true mid-sized car they've ever produced for and it sets up the industry to start thinking about putting them on stuff like the Honda Accord, Nissan Maxima, Ford Taurus, etc. Those are some very high volume cars.
