W. Molloy/S. Rogers
Let me make my position clear on this thread. I think all three of us share a similar view.
I am pro-gun. I want to keep my guns. I shoot skeet, shoot paper tagets with rifles as well as pistols, shoot trap, deer hunt, and plink with pistols as well as rifles. I reload. I am a life member of the NRA. I will defend my family if the situation calls for it. I do not know if I am capable of deadly force until I am placed in that position. However, my "practice" at all the above firearms activities will ensure I will hit what I aim at. Safety training is the FIRST thing that is taught in any firearms course you can take. Before they give you a weapon they school you on the ten basic rules. This is true in hunter safety, boy scouts, adventure camps, and rifle ranges.
I do not like HCI. Regardless of what they say, Schumer, HCI and Feinstein are all on record saying if they could get an outright ban they would enforce it. That is against the constitution. Period.
I do not mind waiting periods, training, or cerain weapons bans. I am against any form of registration because I am just realistic (or paranoid enough depending on your viewpoint) to believe this can and will be used at some time to track down gun owners.
I feel these views are shared by the majority of Americans. Who, in turn, are misrepresented by the media as well as the gov't where guns are concerned. I think this is a sane and rational viewpoint which I think we share.
