Thanks Allen for your response. I was aware of the counter aspect of the HTML and recognize that most web sites use the feature. What I'm really interested in is this: Are there sites exclusive to AOL which receive a lot of traffic that would provide advertisers with opportunities to sell there products which they would not be able to obtain with other "open" www sites? Or, are all the sites repackaged by AOL available through any access provider? Essentially is it the site that makes for good advertising or the one who bundles these for access? Where do the bulk of advertising dollars go on the internet?
Most Companies seem to want a presence, but why do they need AOL or Compuserve or any other provider? Would Yahoo or some of the other popular "free" service providers be a better choice (more traffic)?
