Don:

The point of a public company is to sell shares to raise capital. Financing a company can take 2 basic forms, debt or equity. Debt for a start up is impossible. That leaves equity.

So the issue equity to implement their vision. If successfull, they then generate revenue, and ultimately positive cash flow. They then repurchase shares, which as you know is accretive.

What is the big deal about the shares. Would you prefer they do not raise financing to build new machines and the company stops dead in the water??
