Here is some more stuff. Same old song.

Chip makers will cut production again

Jul 15, 1998 - Samsung Electronics and Hyundai Electronics Industries, the nation's
leading memory chip manufacturers, have decided to reduce production again starting in
mid-July to prevent a further slide of product prices, according to industry sources.
Hyundai Electronics Industries will shut down its semiconductor assembly lines at its
Inchon factory for eight days starting July 16, giving workers an extra summer vacation.
Samsung Electronics, the world's largest memory chip maker, will suspend operations of
its Kihung semiconductor plant for a six-day vacation for employees starting July 19.
Thanks to last month's reduction in output by three Korean chip makers, including LG
Semicon, the market price of 64-megabit DRAM chips has remained at US$8 to
US$9, the sources said.
