Liquid Audio Also Supports Intel NY Music Festival Web Site With Liquid Lounge, Hosts Free Seminar on Selling and Promoting Music on the Internet
NEW YORK, July 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Liquid Audio, the leader in secure online music delivery systems, will record tonight's Jesus and Mary Chain concert at Irving Plaza, part of the Intel New York Music Festival, then make a song from the live performance available to customers at Tower Records tomorrow morning.
A select song performed by the group will be recorded and mastered by Liquid Audio at the concert venue as the band plays songs from their new album, ''Munki'' on Sub Pop Records. The select song will be published to the Internet overnight; then, in the morning, customers at Tower Records on Fourth and Broadway in Manhattan can take home a free ''burned'' CD copy of the song with the purchase of ''Munki.''

Various Internet Web sites, including www.intelfest.com, www.subpop.com, www.towerrecords.com and www.liquidmusicnetwork.com, will have the published song available for free for consumers to download to their PC. Liquid Audio's participation in the Intel New York Music Festival also includes a showcase of its technology on Intel Corp.'s [Nasdaq:INTC - news] festival Web site at www.intelfest.com, where music fans can preview, download and purchase digital audio tracks from a select group of festival artists in the Liquid Lounge.
Intelfest site visitors have the opportunity to see and hear all the festival action, including performances from more than 300 bands at 20 Manhattan clubs and exclusive interviews with select bands from Intel's Command Central. Using Liquid Audio's Liquid Music Player CD, music fans can create their own custom playlist, turning their PC into a jukebox on their desktop. The Liquid Music Player CD easily interfaces with popular CD-recorders, enabling the creation of custom compilation CDs at home. As a benefit to each of the participating bands, Liquid Audio is donating a three months' appearance on the Liquid Music Network (see related press release), with one year to be given away to the winning band from the festival.
A final component to Liquid Audio's participation in the Intel New York Music Festival is sponsoring its second music industry seminar, ''Selling and Promoting Music on the Internet,'' designed to help independent artists and music labels harness the power of the Internet for music distribution, promotion and sales. The free industry workshop will be held in conjunction with the Intel New York Music Festival from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 18, at the Knitting Factory, 74 Leonard St., New York, 212-219-3006.
