Did it ever occur to you that it could even be possible that Bezos believes in the long-term prospects for the company? And, that like most longs who bought early, and like most insiders, he wants to hold on for the long term?

Just my two cents with no evidence but...

The primary reason why Bezos still drives a Honda is IAUS and the plethora of analogous situations to IAUS. Many here may be familiar with this case already. Those that aren't should look it up, it's a great story.

Boy, Bezos can't catch a break. If he dumps shares he will be criticized profusely here. If he holds, we'll criticize him anyway.

James,

I don't think Amazon has ever broken down sales by region before. But I would not be surprised by any headlines that come along with the quarterly report. I do expect them to say very positive things about the music sales, but I don't think they'll break them out on the income statement.

I'm no accountant, but it seems to me that Amazon breaks down there sales and expense information as little as possible. Perhaps they're just trying not to tip off the competition. The Washington Post made it sound like Bezos was down right paranoid about giving out information on the business.

John
