TCI chairman John Malone acknowledged in a published report Monday that a sharp drop in AT&T's stock price since the June 24 announcement ''scares me to death because I think it could well kill the deal.'' Is T move up today market reaction to Malone or is it just catching up to the run of the last few days? Armstrong was so firm in his conviction that i can't see him backing away. Well, if TCI shareholders reject T will have a nice profit if they call it off. And now Time Warner is talking to T. They probably want a chunk of the T bankroll that Armstrong is hot to disperse.
