WORLDWIDE REVENUES FROM PREPAID MOBILE SERVICES TO GROW BY NEARLY $100 BILLION BY 2007 HIGH-GROWTH CELLULAR SECTOR TO ADD NEARLY 250 MILLION USERS WORLDWIDE

----------------------------------------------------------------------

SHERMAN OAKS, Calif., July 7 /PRNewswire/ via NewsEdge Corporation --
Advanced-payment mobile services, known as prepaid services, will attract
263.9 million users to the worldwide cellular market, generating US$102.6
billion in revenues by 2007, according to Baskerville Communications Corp.'s
Global Mobile Prepaid Strategies report, the first study to take an in-depth
look at prepaid strategies in mobile communications. Baskerville, a leading
analyst in the global mobile communications sector, reports that in 1997,
14.7 million prepaid customers, who represented 7% of total mobile
subscribers, generated US$3.7 billion in revenues. The 2007 figures show
that 37.3% of mobile customers will be using new prepaid services.

In this 10-year forecast, world markets to have the highest percentages of
prepaid revenues per mobile subscribers are Mexico, India, Portugal, Italy,
and Indonesia, with one-third of overall worldwide revenues at US$102.8
billion in 2007 being generated from the top five mobile markets: U.S.,
Italy, Mexico, Germany and France.

According to Baskerville, the rapid growth of prepaid services is
underpinned by three main industry traits: relatively low current cellular
penetration in many markets and the opportunity for increased interest in
prepaid services from new cellular users; the perception in most countries
that traditional, or postpaid, cellular services are expensive; and prepaid
service accessibility in growing cash-based societies. Furthermore, prepaid
customers benefit from: obtaining instant service free of credit checks; the
elimination of account cloning; lower customer tariffs in certain regions;
no obligations to purchase air time packages; and reduced commission and
service fees.
