maybe y'all noticed this but Intel reported sales in China were "up dramatically", like 50% up. Dell's new operation in China should be blossoming by now.

according to Dressaur (formerly with Chase) China is the "new Japan" of Asia. he believes China will replace Japan as the major economic force there in less than five years. in his latest newsletter he states that China threatened to devalue the Yaun if the US and Japan let the Yen go to 150, at which point both the US and Japan beganing buying Yen to prop it up. So, he states China "saved Asia" while we slept and we didn't know about it (and he states that realistically, China saved the world markets had the Yen crossed the 150 barrier). he believes this was a bluff by China, but that Clinton and Japan now take China seriously - China being the unseated member the group of 7.

Dressaur covered Asia for Chase Manhatten prior to his current stint as a stock advisor to sleepy eyed people who spend most of their day aboard Norweigan cruisers sipping cognac
