Paul, the AMD K6/3D is a 266MHz version overclocked at 4.5x66 on an FIC VA503+ mobo with 48MB EDO RAM. It would not boot at 3x100 despite assertions that this mobo supports 66MHz RAM while accessing L2 at 100MHz.

The Stealth 64 VRAM 2MB video card is probably the limiting factor, providing only 17 FPS at 320x240. My PII/300 (4 x 75) has a 4MB Stealth 3D Pro 2000 card which provides 33 FPS at 320x240 and 22FPS at 640x480.

I ordered a K6/3D 300MHz retail box chip and an 8MB ATI All-In-Wonder Pro AGP 2X with SGRAM for delivery at week's end. I'll report my findings but until then, it is a safe bet to assume that getting hot performance from a K6/3D mobo upgrade is "all in the cards" (video that is).
