Jordan,

At an industry Executive Briefing I attended 3 weeks ago, we were told by the Aberdeen Industry Analyst to "ask MSFT if they have moved their company to run on NT and see what answer you'll get.".

Most of their operations we were told run on non-NT (i.e. AS/400 to name one platform). Now if this Aberdeen Analyst was completely wrong, I would like hear exactly what enterprise IT infrastructure they run they entire company on. Do they have a complete enterprise world-wide domain structure and NT services?

Please Jordan, if you can shed details on MSFT environment I would be very interested in hearing it.

If the Aberdeen Analyst is completely wrong and MSFt is running their enterprise on NT, then my challenge to Gates and MSFT still stands. Ask Gates to upgrade 50% of all their internal NT servers to NT5 before publicly releasing it to their customers.

WONT EVER HAPPEN!!

As NOVL's Schmidt said "We have to be able to eat our own dog food if we are asking our customers to eat it". Commitments like that would make an IT decision-maker feel comfortable that the product will be acceptable to them.

Jordan, if you have any ins with MSFT executives, ask them those questions and please tell us the responses you'll get.
