IMO Alya's lead or supposed lead may not be as important as their ability to establish market share.

Besides, whether or not Alya has a lead, Alya is at the forefront of this new industry. To maintain its position it has to sell its products.

So as you noted their growing list of worldwide distributors is very important.

Building automation, security and energy management are all well established business sectors. The use of LON compliant hardware on LON networks updates these sectors and opens the doors to new "players".

All of these established sectors have multiple profittable players. So who's to say that even if others enter or are already in the same business that Alya is in, that there isn't room for competitors who share this market?

Also, as an aside are any of these "competitors" Y2K compliant?
Plus retrofitting existing automation systems with y2k compliant products seems like an immediate way ALya could market its products.
