Barry, just a note to let you know that I am praying for your father's wife Lavonne. I know this is a grievance to you also, as well as all the family. She was on my mind several times yesterday and today. Sometimes I am at a loss for words, not very good with words anyway, but I feel like I should say this now, since I always have this idea with me, "Jesus loves us beyond anything we could ever imagine", truly the mind of man cannot grasp the depths of His love. I think you probably know this Scripture,
" Rom 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."
Barry, additionally, we humans cannot see the heart of another person. Therefore, we cannot really tell if they are saved, only the Lord and maybe the person, I say maybe because there are many who practice self deceit(Mat 7:22 "Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?'
Mat 7:23 "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.'

A person must have been born the second time by receiving the Holy Spirit from God. Some even are made aware of the Shekinah glory within. Others have weaker births, but all receive the Holy Spirit as a seal of ownership and promise from God. This is what makes a christian, the relationship established by God between Him and an individual. Others have either deceived themselves by doing good works or are deliberately false and lie.
My request to God is that He bless you and yours during this time of anticipation, "Worthy is the Lamb".
