It makes sense to me that the courses would be dependent on a particular software or trading tool. Because it is technical trading and the software contains the "rules" for a particular set of trading strategies, the software can't be separated from the training.

If you mean that it should be possible to find a course that discusses the effectiveness of various strategies, discusses some of the books that are available, provides a grounding in day trading, then this discussion forum does that pretty well, if you get the books and follow the commentary.

For me, part of the objection to trainers promoting their own software is that you don't have anything to compare it with if you "buy into" one of these courses. But after reading a lot of descriptions of software from companies that offer training, I found I liked the description that Impact gave the best. They didn't spend a lot of time selling people on the software (they're not selling the software) but emphasized what games it allows them to play.
